Studies among school children under the age of 15 worldwide have found a strong link of physical fitness in children with their academic performance and classroom behaviour. Thus, physical education was considered to be one of the core requirements within the structure of subjects that the teaching faculty had considered.
Our Physical Education curriculum provides an opportunity for each student to:
Every child has scheduled classes in sports included into the curriculum each week and a health and fitness assessment is carried out for each child twice a year: once in June and again six months later in December which allows the school and parents to keep track of the fitness of each child. Nutrition classes also encourage the children to eat healthily so that they can perform better not only on the sports field but also in their academics.
The School excels at the Inter School Sports Meet which it holds on its campus each year. Infrastructure is available to practice Football, Volleyball, Basketball, and Cricket, Throw ball, Kho-Kho, and Shuttle Badminton. Prior to sporting events there are extra classes scheduled in the afternoons after school in Athletics, Basketball, Throw ball and Cricket.
The sporting events and competitions that a child can enter include the CISCE inter-school event held in Karnataka each year, a Basketball and Throw ball league organized by The Sports Gurukul on our campus, an inter and intra-school multi-sports event held on our campus each year, national competitions and a walkathon organized in Attibele.
In the year 2015-16 Lohitha. N of class X had participated in the ICSE National Sports Meet held at Ahmadabad representing the Karnataka ICSE School’s Association (KISA) and our School in Discus throw.

Cricket
Cricket, a fun and beneficial form of work out and social game to play, that’s easy to learn and can be enjoyed by boys and girls from as young as 5 years old.
Basketball
The intense, fast-paced action of a typical basketball game develops learners speed, hand-eye coordination and cardiovascular endurance.
Football
Football players often have a tremendous amount of aerobic capacity being able to go from walking to sprinting and have a fast recovery to do it again.
Badminton
Badminton is not only a sport, but it’s also a life-saving skill and regular practice keeps you fit and healthy. Objective to assess the learners are the correct technique and skill involved.
Kho kho
Kho kho builds the learners confidence and encourages the students to succeed and to take control of your life and also Develops discipline.
Tennis
Tennis is a popular sport that emphasises values, such as fair play, sportsmanship and respect. This sport aids in maintaining health, fitness, strength and agility.
