Admissions to the School

The academic year will commence from May.

Children can enter St. Dominic’s School at any age between 2.10 and 13.8 years old, if places are available.

As a matter of policy we do not admit students in Class X. Each student will have an aptitude test prior to admission to ensure that they are being admitted into the right class and after a Personal Interview with the student and parents. Parents other than Nursery will be required to provide a Transfer Certificate from a previous school. Kindly note that a child must be at least 2 years 10 months old to be entered into Nursery.

Stage One

Parents are invited to visit St. Dominic’s any weekday and on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturdays of the month (Sundays CLOSED), during school office hours which are between 9.30 am and 2.30 pm for a tour of the school. There is no need for an appointment – please just come when it is convenient for you. After the tour, if you wish, you may complete the simple entry application form available from the school office for a fee. All entry forms must be completed by the parents, in person. We will not send or receive forms by post or accept forms signed by third parties. You will be required to bring additional documents if you wish to pursue application for a seat for your child at the school and this will be informed to you at this stage.

Stage Two

We may require your child to attend an entrance examination to ensure that the child is suitable for the class being entered for. Once the assessment and application process is completed and we have received all documents requested, we will ask you to confirm your continued interest by applying and paying a fee for each child. Once received this fee guarantees your child a seat at St. Dominic’s and thus no refund of the fee will be made in case of non-appearance.

It is important to remember that if you change your address you keep us informed, so that we do not lose touch with you.

Declaration

Both parents, in applying for their child’s admission to St. Dominic’s, agree to abide by the standard terms and conditions (rules and regulations) of the school (which may undergo reasonable changes from time to time as circumstances require) and that the school may obtain, process and hold personal information about their child for the purpose of assessment and the welfare of the pupil whilst at St. Dominic’s.
