Teaching Opportunities at St. Dominic’s

St. Dominic’s School  invites teachers to join us in our continuing endeavour to improve our teaching faculty base. In exchange, you will be supported in your own endeavours in projects and academic excellence through further study and training. We offer an excellent campus and an environment conducive to work, study and play. The Campus is spread over thirty acres just off the busy National Highway 7 (Hosur Road) about thirty five kilometres from Bangalore City centre and two kilometres from the Tamil Nadu border. The school has 700 students and growing with more than 35 faculty members.

St Dominic’s School provides a cutting edge academic, co-curricular and extracurricular programme. Our teachers are proud of the establishment and the work they are undertaking and have a strong commitment to professional development of its teachers that ensures that the faculty is appraised on effective up-to-date teaching strategies that will maximize the learning outcomes of the students. SDS offers the CISCE curricula and will continue to look at curricula that enhances and is beneficial to the needs of the children. The School Mission statements states, “The management and teaching staff strive for excellence in their manner, performance of their duties and teaching methods, in an inclusive, safe and holistic environment. The children under their care are disciplined, eager for knowledge and are encouraged to act with honour and respect for the individual.” We have been living and working by this mission successfully since 1999.

Some of our teachers choose to live on campus and is a benefit to new teachers looking to join the School for the first time. The school offers competitive salaries and the Management team work hard to build a working team around them which makes the working environment very conducive. Our teachers are extremely happy with the efforts we make and can see for themselves the positive impact they are having on the institution and on the lives of the children.

The academic year runs from early May to the beginning of April for the senior school and from the end of May to the beginning of April for the rest of the school. The difference in timing allows for us to accommodate the number of teaching hours that are prescribed by the CISCE board and senior teachers are compensated with additional days of Casual Leave. We invite you to apply for a position at our school. Please contact us for more information

In-Service Training

The academic staff have several programmes organised for them throughout the year which are aimed not only at improving the academic excellence of staff but also enhancing the communal and team spirit within the staff of the school.

We have several staff taking up higher qualifications as this is encouraged by the School Management. The school co-ordinators ensure that all classes are appropriately staffed should a teacher be absent on one of these training programmes.
